"SHACK Community Center Phases
The Earnie Lee “SHACK” Walker Foundation is a non-profit organization. It is our mission “To help children reach their full potential; to strengthen East Texas communities while providing safe refuge for future generations; to actively protect the minds of our youth and instill in them a desire to succeed and pursue their goals despite obstacle.” The ELSWF will address four areas of service:
PHASE I

The WPCC will be available for families of the surrounding community to celebrate special milestones in their family’s lives such as graduations, holiday gatherings, family reunions, religious services and other educational seminars that promote community well-being and family ties. The purpose of this is to drive home the fact that no achievement should be considered too minor but that all accomplishments that show progression should be acknowledged and rewarded.
The WPCC is in direct response to the growing number of adults living in the rural community of Camp County that need a place to socialize with other adults and the growing number of young people that need a positive influence in their lives’ as well a place to conduct research away from school when school technology is not available.

Phase II
Enhancing the ELSWF Mentoring Program
The ELSWF Mentoring Program will offer a structured program of support and life skills to youth in grades 3-12. The goals of the project are to provide a safe, supportive and consistent environment for teens to learn positive life skills and to focus life goals.

Phase III
Construct a Jogging/Walking Track
WPCC will promote health and wellness through physical fitness, literature and educational seminars provided by certified professionals.

Phase IV
Install an Outdoor Recreation Area and Fishing
The WPCC will offer adults living in the rural community of Camp County a place to soberly socialize with other adults. The center will provide a venue for seniors to voice their concerns as well as a forum for active community leaders to stay informed on the most current community activities.
