Mission

Background

The ELSWF Youth Mentoring Program was started in 2010. It grew out of setting time aside during a Family Reunion. Mentoring session were targeted for 30-40 minutes. With the creation of the ELSWF Foundation this platform is being expanded as a way to offer a structured program of support and life skills to youth in grades 3-12. The goals of the project are to provide a safe,
supportive and consistent environment for teens to learn positive life skills and to focus on life skills.
The program is structured to address common teen issues through one-on-one, small and large group activities. Youth are encouraged to share their ideas and opinions as they also learn and practice positive coping strategies.
